Always be consistent

One element all training method share is to be consistent. A smart dog may understand what you are trying to teach him but it is repeating and consistent training that will allow your dog to response to it quickly.

You will not be able to teach them anything if you only make time teach him but do not follow up after that.

You can also have your family members to help with the training. Let them know what they should do and how to control your dog as you would do it. Consistency is key, and unless your dog is being treated the same way by everyone, you might find that he may actually pick up a few more bad habits instead.
